Minersville Town Water Conservation Tips
The following suggested water use strategies and tips are due to the short water supply this year. Minersville Town STRONGLY ENCOURAGES careful and efficient use of outdoor watering. Be good stewards of the water system by being responsible users. To help maintain and meet the demand for the water system, we are recommending all users implement the following best practices.
- Avoid water during the heat of the day when wind and evaporation are the greatest.
- Recommended watering hours between 7:00PM and 9:00AM
- Adjust watering schedules to accommodate temperatures and precipitation.
- Use a broom to sweep driveways and sidewalks instead of using the hose.
- Adjust sprinkler types, heads, and direction with the goal to have even coverage for watering lawns and gardens and to avoid watering into the sidewalks and streets.
- Consistently maintain watering systems. Frequently assess and repair leaks, hoses, pipes and damaged sprinkler heads.
Utah is the second driest state in the nation, averaging only 13 inches of water each year. Working together to practice conservation techniques is a huge step toward preserving our most valued resource.
